KOTA BARU: A conspiracy to weaken the Red Warriors and cause Kelantan to be demoted to the Premier League.

That was the stunning allegation today by a source, who declined to be named.

He alleged that an individual is trying to incite several Kelantan players, and causing the football team to be destabilised.

According to the source, the individual, who is a Datuk, met five players at a hotel to discuss a plot to cause Kelantan to be relegated from the Super League to the Premier League next season.

He said this should not be happening as the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) are working hard to save the team from demotion.

He claimed that the individual also offered incentives to the players involved.

KAFA president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan, when contacted, confirmed the matter, and said the association are now trying to identify the individual and players involved.

Bibi said KAFA will get evidence on the conspiracy, and she hopes the Red Warriors will not be affected by the matter.

Kelantan must beat Melaka United on Oct 28 to ensure they continue their stay in the Super League.
