KUALA LUMPUR: The judge and all parties involved in the murder trial of deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais today visited three locations around Jalan Dutamas here, including the place where he was abducted while on his way to work on Sept 4, 2015.
The two other locations were Kevin Morais’ house at Menara Duta Condominium, Jalan Dutamas Raya, and the place where a Mitsubishi Triton four-wheel-drive vehicle with four men inside crashed into a Proton Perdana car with Kevin Morais at the wheel.
High Court judge Datuk Azman Abdullah, together with the prosecution team, headed by DPP Saiful Edris Zainuddin, the defence team and the accused in the case – R. Dinishwaran, A.K. Thinesh Kumar, M. Vishwanath, S. Nimalan, S. Ravi Chandaran and army doctor Colonel Dr R.Kunaseegaran – left to the locations at 9.30 am and escorted by the police.
They had gathered at the Jalan Duta Court Complex and then went to the fist location at the Menara Duta Condominium, about 1.4 km away, before going to the traffic light intersection, about 500 metres from the condominium, where the crash involving the Mitsubishi Triton and Kevin Morais’ car took place.
Nimalan was at the wheel of the Mitsubishi Triton, with Dinishwaran, Thinesh Kumar and Vishwanath as passengers.
They then went to the location where Kevin Morais and Nimalan stopped their vehicles before Kevin Morais got out of his car and was abducted.
However, Dr R.Kunaseegaran, who was in a police truck did not go down to the locations of the scene as he was not at the locations with the other accused.
DPP Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin told reporters that the visit was made to provide a better understanding of the case to both the prosecution and the defence teams.
