KOTA BARU: Two men have been sentenced to eight weeks jail and fined RM2,000 today by the magistrate's court for stealing at a supermarket here last week.

Magistrate Kamarul Hasyime Rosli meted out the sentence after the accused Mizaidi Mat Lazim, 30, and Muhammad Adli Shahrin Sanusi, 25, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The court also ordered the accused to be jailed two more months if they failed to settle the fine.

According to the charge sheet, the accused had stolen numerous items including a pair of slippers, hair oil, and car fresheners worth RM310.04 at a supermarket here on April 8 at 7.30pm.

The accused were charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
