KOTA KINABALU: A new modelling agency here is set to provide a proper platform to groom aspiring models.

The opening of MV Models and Talents is scheduled for October but the agency will launch its social media site this month.

Photographer and modelling entrepreneur based in United Kingdom, Mae Imelda Kolis, who spearheads the agency, said she hoped to assist local talents in the modelling industry.

She said the current industry required not only tall individuals with pretty faces but also models in categories such as fitness and people who were petite and plus size.

The Kadazandusun lass said she had come across clients requesting for specific and particular looks for commercial, editorial or advertising projects.

“Therefore, we encourage couples and family of all races as well as children from all ages, even babies, to sign up and be listed in our data base.

“Aspiring talents such as photographers, makeup artists, singers, and designers can also join and be part of the mission because collaboration is important in this industry.

“MV Models and Talents’ main service is grooming class, which is lacking in Sabah. This is where we play our part with models who register with us,” said Mae.

She said models would be given basic grooming class on building confidence, managing time, etiquette, posing and catwalk.

She added that such classes would also be opened to children as young as eight, teenagers and those who were ready to face the challenge for personal career growth in general.

MV Models and Talents is also planning to tour across the state to scout for models and put forth raw talents Sabah has to offer.
