KUALA LUMPUR: With Malaysia and its citizens experiencing a new dawn after the recent 14th general election, the atmosphere is one of hope and positivity.

Popular singer Ning Baizura was pleasantly surprised that her lyric music video to the song Greatest Gift Of Love had recently garnered more than 67,000 views on YouTube in less than a week after being uploaded.

The rousing tune was a special dedication to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who recently became the seventh prime minister of Malaysia.

Speaking about the YouTube entry, titled Tribute To Tun Mahathir, the 43-year-old powerhouse songstress said that the particular track used had been written a long time ago and that she would frequently perform it during corporate events.

She added: “It was purposefully composed specially for a leader or individual that brings on a change to the nation.

“But this time I felt a need to utilise the song to pay homage to our current prime minister. That is why I added in various pictures and short clips that are related to Tun Dr Mahathir,” said Ning.

On a different note, the singer, who has been entertaining music lovers for the last 25 years now, revealed that she would be coming up with new material after Hari Raya Aidilfitri as well as organising a tour to several states.

“I plan to stage concerts in a few states, which include Sabah and Sarawak, in conjunction with my 25th year anniversary of being in the music industry,” she said.
