KUALA LUMPUR: An illegal structure — built by a resident’s neighbour in SS18/1, Subang Jaya, Selangor — will soon be torn down.
Resident William Dennis, who raised this issue, said the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) had last month served a 30-day notice to his neighbour to tear down the wall and carry out remedial works at his house.
“As of Wednesday, however, my neighbour has not torn down the wall.
“This year, I have written five letters to MPSJ to ask when they will come to demolish the wall, but nothing has been done.
“Due to this problem, my wife and I had to cancel our holiday to London as well as family functions.”
An MPSJ spokesman said it was aware of the situation. However, it had wanted the neighbours to resolve the matter amicably.
“A month’s notice was served, but nothing was done. We must respect the residents’ rights, so we will tear down the wall in seven or 14 days.”
